The photo exhibition “Tirana 100 year capital” has been opened in “Skënderbej” square in the center of Tirana. Through black and white photos, the traces of the city are presented, from the first centuries after Christ in the Mosaic of Tirana, to the bazaar, namazgah, villas of the 1930s until today. The organizer and general director of “Alsar” Saimir Rusheku says that this presentation was made to reflect the important moments, starting from the Tirana nobility with the establishment of the Orphanage by “Zyber Hallulli”, to the hospitality that the first mayor of Tirana Ismail Ndroqi gave to the Congress of Lushnja at Qafa Kashar. Then a complete presentation of the establishment of institutions in Tirana, extending to the infrastructure and the development of civic life is made”, says Saimir Rusheku, director of the “Alsar” foundation.
Photos taken from 1920 to 2020 bring cultural, religious, ethnographic, sports, urban and architectural development.
The exhibition is set behind Skanderbeg Square and will travel to Pristina, Ulcinj, Tetovo and Skopje.
