Tourism in Albania Shows Strong Growth with Rising Foreign Visitors

Tourism in Albania records strong growth in June 2025. The number of foreign and Albanian citizens entering the country increased notably, indicating a dynamic tourist season and rising interest in the destination.
Official data shows that 2,062,775 people entered the Albanian territory in June. This marks a 7.6% increase compared to the same month last year.
Authorities attribute the growth mainly to a higher number of foreign visitors. However, movements by Albanian citizens also played a role, as many returned for vacations or family visits.
Of the total entries, 733,571 were Albanian citizens. This reflects an 8.5% rise from June 2024. The increase appears linked to the summer season and the return of emigrants to spend time with their families.

Among them, 710,963 were Albanian citizens, marking a notable increase of 10.7%.
According to INSTAT, 94% of foreign visitors came from Europe. Southern Europe contributed the highest share, accounting for 70% of the entries. Western Europe and Central/Eastern Europe followed, each with 11%.
The majority of visitors entered Albania for personal reasons. Vacations, family visits, and social activities dominated, covering 98% of all arrivals. This category saw a 6.8% increase from the same time last year.
