UK Embassy in Prishtina Calls on Serbia to Deliver Banjska Attack Perpetrators to Justice

The British Embassy in Kosova marked the two-year anniversary of the terrorist attack in Banjska, Zveçan, in which Police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed.

The embassy described the attack as horrific and said the perpetrators, including Milan Radoicic, have not yet faced justice. It urged Serbian authorities to act swiftly.

On 24 September 2023, around 50 armed Serbs, led by Radoicic, attacked the Kosova Police at Banjska Monastery. Bunjaku was killed and several others were injured. Three attackers were shot dead by special forces, while the rest fled to Serbia via mountain routes.

Radoicic, sanctioned by the United States and wanted by Kosovan authorities for murder, led the armed group from the monastery.

On 11 September 2025, the Special Prosecution filed indictments against Radoicic and other group members for terrorist acts and serious offenses against Kosova’s constitutional order and security. Some face charges of financing the group and money laundering.

Serbia has not handed over the suspects, despite repeated requests from Kosovan authorities and international partners.

Radoicic served as deputy head of the Serb List, the largest party representing Serbs in Kosova, supported by the Belgrade government.
