The US will fund $2.2 billion in military aid to support its allies. This new military aid package includes Albania and 18 other countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia , Kosovo, Moldova and Ukraine.

This decision was announced during an extraordinary meeting of NATO, where Secretary of State Antony Blinken also participated.

The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, also responded to military aid, writing that “the US will do what is necessary to protect and strengthen our allies and partners”.

US aid comes in the form of grants and loans that will allow countries to buy US-made weapons and defense equipment.
