US Secretary of State Antony Blinken congratulated Kosovo Albanians on the 14th anniversary of Independence. Blinken says the United States stands by Kosovo as it works to build a better future for its citizens.

In his greeting, the US Secretary of State underlines that Kosovo’s independence and sovereignty are irreversible and inviolable, so building the flexible democratic and inclusive institutions they provide for all citizens requires perseverance.

There was a message for the region as well. The US Secretary of State says that the US expects Kosovo to rightfully take its place alongside its neighbors in European and Euro-Atlantic institutions. “We reiterate our support for the EU-facilitated Dialogue as a way to reach an agreement on normalized relations focused on mutual recognition,” he said.
