US Special envoy: Belgrade and Prishtina to accept the EU three-point plan

The US special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar has asked again for the reduction of tensions between Kosova and Serbia.
For Escobar, the best solution for getting out of the crisis is for Belgrade and Pristina to accept the three-point plan presented by the EU, while according to him, otherwise they would lose many opportunities.
“The European plan is good, there are positive indications that Belgrade can accept it, but it cannot say the same for the Prime Minister of Kosova, Albin Kurti. We hope that at some point, Kurti will meet the European and American demands,” Escobar said.
Regarding what would be the consequences, in case Kosova’s wouldn’t accept the plan may have, Escobar said that there is no punitive measure, but it is a lost opportunity.
“Our partnership with Kosova is a partnership with the Kosovar people, not with a [political] party or a political figure. It is not a punitive measure, it is a lost opportunity. This is happening to Kosova now because it is not coordinating with its partners”, said Escobar.
The US special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, commented on the tensions between Kosova and Serbia, on the eve of the international conference due in Dubrovnik.
Serbia and Kosova accepted last February the European Plan for the normalization of relations and the Annex for the implementation of that agreement at the meeting in March in Ohrid, North Macedonia.
