This morning, the theater actor of “Petro Marko” in Vlora, Vasillaq Godo, passed away at the age of 81.

Godo starred in several Albanian films, showcasing his talent in various roles, while his artistic career flourished in the theater of Vlora.

Born in Vlora on February 15, 1943, Godo was among the founding actors of the “Petro Marko” theater in 1962. He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in acting in 1967. He portrayed over 90 characters, being one of the leading actors of this theater.

Some of his notable roles include those in plays such as “Such a Love” (Vasllav Kral), “For Those at Sea,” “The Winter Season of Riviera Cafe,” “Three Minds at Auction” (The Professor), “Rhinoceros,” “The Snowman,” “The City Terrorist,” “S.O.S at the Hotel,” “Before the Traffic Light” (Cecea), and “The Spirit of the Wolf” (Aleksi).

He also appeared in several Albanian films including “Brothers and Friends” (1980), “A Name Among People” (1983), “Return of the Dead Army” (1989), “Life at his Hands” (1990), “A Wonderful Day” (2003), “The Albanian” (2010), and his latest role as a police officer in “Pharmakon” in 2012.
