The National Historical Museum commemorated the birth of Vinçenc Prennushi (1885–1949), a cleric, publicist, poet, folklore collector, and translator.

Born in Shkodër, Prennushi attended the Franciscan school and the Troshan Seminary. In 1908, he completed his higher studies in philosophy and theology in Innsbruck, Austria, and was ordained as a priest. Upon returning to Albania, he worked as a teacher and later became the director of the Franciscan College (1920).

Prennushi participated in the Albanian Literary Commission in Shkodër. From 1918 to 1929, he led the magazine Zani i Shna Ndout, and from 1921 to 1924, Hylli i Dritës. He was a prominent Catholic dignitary in Albania: in 1936, he was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Sapa, and in 1940, archbishop of Durrës and Tirana. After 1944, he resided in the village of Delbnisht, Laç, and in 1946, he led the Albanian Catholic Church.

Prennushi was also a founding member of the Writers’ League (1945). In 1947, he was arrested and sentenced to 20 years of forced labor. He died in the prison of Durrës. His most significant work is the collection of spiritual writings Gjeth e lule (1924, 1931), which became widely popular.
