Von der Leyen starts the tour in the Western Balkans, the first stop in Albania

The President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen begins her tour of visits to the Western Balkans, paying the first visit to Albania. Von der Leyen will visit Albania on September 28, and thenshe is paying a visit to North Macedonia.
On September 29, Von der Leyen will visit Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia, and on September 30, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This has been confirmed by the president’s cabine.t Eric Mamer, Spokeperson of the European Commission, said that during her visit to the Western Balkans region, President Von der Leyen will reconfirm the European perspective of the countries of the region and the commitment of the European Union to them.
The visit will provide an opportunity to discuss a range of issues, including the economic and investment plan for the Western Balkans region and the seven-year IPA III 2021-2027 assistance. The President will also dwell on the evolution of each Western Balkan country, including the opening of membership negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania.
