Vucic accepts Kosovo’s documents for reciprocity, but with one condition: The non-recognition of independence should be specified

“Serbia is ready to accept Kosovo’s documents, but only with a note specifying that independence is not recognized”.That is the statement issued by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic a few days before Kosovo started implementing reciprocity.
According to him, the movement of Kosovar citizens in Serbia should only be allowed for practical reasons, to enable freedom of movement and cannot be interpreted as recognition of the country’s sovereignty.
According to Vucic, Serbs from all over Kosovo should be allowed to travel with Serbian documents without showing them at the border, while he sees the license plate issue as more complicated.
“For this we are seeking the EU guarantee. We are asking that every Serb from the north of Kosovo can enter the territory of Kosovo with Serbian documents, and that they can leave whenever they want. If they confirm this, we have solved a small problem”, said Vucic.
Vucic emphasized once again that Serbia does not agree with mutual recognition between the countries. “Forget about this and don’t come to Belgrade with such stories because they are meaningless,” said the Serbian President, adding that he is ready to discuss compromise on other issues.
Meanwhile, the special envoy of the USA for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, has once again commented on the expected situation in the North of Kosovo, stating that no one should die or be injured because of license plates.
