The Berlin Process summit has brought together leaders from the Western Balkans and the European Union in London.

Just before the start of the summit, regional leaders, including Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, met King Charles III.

At 2:20 p.m., when the Albanian delegation arrives at the summit, Prime Minister Rama will meet with his British counterpart, Keir Starmer. A family photo is scheduled for 2:45 p.m., followed by the plenary session at 3:00 p.m.

Delegations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia are taking part in today’s summit. The Berlin Process, launched in 2014, aims to keep Southeast European countries on track toward European Union membership.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the EU has shown greater openness to accepting new members. However, concerns remain that the war in Ukraine and growing tensions between Russia and the West could spill over into a region still affected by its own conflicts.
