Work has begun on the reconstruction of the Pogradec Castle, which dates back to the 10th century, while as a settlement to the 5th-4th century BC. Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama shared pictures from the works, as he writes that very soon, this castle will turn into an important destination to visit.

“Good morning with the work that has started to revive the panoramic Pogradec Castle, which dates back to the 5th-4th century BC, and which will soon look like a destination of the future, I wish you a good day,” writes Rama next to the pictures.

Pogradec Castle is one of the most popular cultural heritage assets in this city. The reconstruction project aims at the complete revitalization of the Castle, while an archaeological museum will also be built.
