Wounded policeman in the north of Kosova, Osmani: An open threat! Serbia’s hegemonic dream will never come true

Kosova President, Vjosa Osmani reacted harshly to the gun attack against the police patrol in the north of Kosova, where an officer was injured. In a social networks post, Kosova President declares that Serbia continues with the hegemonic mentality that should be rejected and opposed by the entire democratic world.
She emphasizes that the perpetrators must be brought to justice, while calling on the institutions to react quickly. Kosova President declares that there will never be any more Serbian (state) police officers and soldiers in the territory of Kosova.
“The open threat of police and military aggression by Serbia proves that the hegemonic mentality continues in that country. This must be rejected and clearly opposed by the entire democratic world, which gave the strongest blow to this mindset in 1999.
Last night’s wounding of a member of the Kosova Police is a criminal act and directed against the constitutional order and sovereignty of Kosova and against the rule of law. Also, attacks on journalists constitute a flagrant violation of the right to free information.
The perpetrators of these crimes must be brought to justice as a matter of urgency, while the justice institutions must act immediately. In the territory of the Republic of Kosova, there will never be policemen and soldiers from (the state of) Serbia! The hegemonic dream of Serbia will never come true!”, writes Kosova President.
