Xhaçka: Resolution on Srebrenica contributes to harmony in the region

The Foreign Minister, Olta Xhaçka, said today that Albania has continuously condemned the great Serbian crime in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the Resolution that was presented today in the Assembly gives another dimension to our country’s attitude.
“I want to congratulate my colleagues for this initiative. This resolution is based on international documents, but above all this is an initiative that comes as a culmination of Albania’s long-standing position on the punishment of this crime but also other crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina or Kosovo. It is not the first time that we condemn this massacre. We have held it annually by joining the EU’s declarations on every anniversary, we have held these positions even during the leadership of the OSCE. We have kept this stance not for protagonism, but because these crimes must be punished, since otherwise the region would never know harmony and cooperation. Let’s not use this resolution as a weapon for political gains”, said Xhaçka.
