TIRANA, December 23 – In Gjirokastër, the year-end holiday atmosphere is already noticeable in hotels and guesthouses. Demand for stays is high, and accommodation facilities are preparing to welcome visitors from across Albania and abroad.

The city remains one of the most popular festive destinations, known for its history, traditions, and hospitality.

“Even in winter, especially during Christmas and New Year, Gjirokastër attracts many visitors. Reservations are ongoing, and the final bookings will close soon. The city’s decorated streets create a pleasant atmosphere. During weekends, events at the central square have drawn significant visitor activity,” said Maksim Hoxha, a hotel administrator in Gjirokastër.

Tourism operators and hotel managers expect the festive season to boost the local tourism sector and economy.
