Under the atmosphere of the Gjirokastra National Folk Festival, which is expected to start on Saturday, June 24, the Central State Film Archive published on social networks an album of beautiful photos from the 1968 Folk Festival.

The photos are excerpted from the film “Song and dance from folk stones”, directed by Gëzim Erebara.

“Boys’ devil dance” and “Kcimi me tepsi” of Tropoja are 2 of the pearls of our intangible heritage that are transmitted from generation to generation together with the wonderful national costumes that are unique values of our tradition.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, shared earlier a video with dancers from different Albanian tribes and wrote that, “four more days until the opening of the National Folk Festival of Gjirokastra. All 12 counties are ready. Even Gjirokastra is making final preparations”.

At the end of her post, Minister Margariti invited all art lovers, writing that, “June 24-July 1, everyone at the Argjiro Castle!”
