581st Anniversary of the League of Lezha: Unity is Strength

Lezha marked the 581st anniversary of the League of Lezha with a series of events honoring this historic occasion. The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths and paying respects at the monumental tomb of George Kastrioti Skanderbeg at ancient St. Nicholas Cathedral. Afterward, attendees moved to the garden in front of the memorial, where a statue of the national hero, Skanderbeg, was unveiled.
Kosova’s President, Vjosa Osmani, noted that in Lezha, the heart of the League, they celebrated the 581st anniversary of Albanian unity, a symbol of resilience and vision.
“History teaches us that unity is our greatest strength. Today, in this city of the League, voices from Albania, Kosova, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Presheva Valley, Arbëresh communities in Italy, and Albanians from other regions and the Diaspora united with the message that the unifying actions and spirit of Skanderbeg must remain our national compass,” Vjosa Osmani wrote on social media.
