6th International Watercolor Biennale Attracts Visitors in Tirana

The 6th International Watercolor Biennale in Tirana is drawing large crowds, including organized school visits.
Works by artists from around the world will remain at the Tirana Art Gallery until October 30. The exhibition offers a journey through light, water, and color.
Curated by renowned painter Helidon Haliti and organized by the VIZart Cultural Association, the biennale goes beyond display. Watercolor becomes a universal language expressing friendship, trust, the beauty of the world, and the human spirit.
Over 200 international artists from 50 countries participate. They visited Albania, experienced its culture, food, and landscapes, and transformed these impressions into art. They return as ambassadors of art and love for the country.
The biennale is part of the international “Mediterranean Bridges” platform, supported by the Tirana Municipality and Ministry of Culture. This year featured artists from Egypt, especially talented faculty from Alexandria University of Arts.
A special “Nostalgia” corner honors veteran Albanian artists who shaped the history of visual arts.
Curator Haliti calls the event a bridge linking memories, visions, and artistic experiences without borders.
During the opening, awards recognized artists’ contributions. Ardian Isufi won “Best Avant-Garde Artist,” Nestor Jonuzi received “Watercolor Master,” and the “Ismail Lulani” award was presented by Ormira Lulani.
The biennale offers an emotional and visual journey. Each work opens a window to another world, telling a story that is foreign yet deeply human.
