Tourists turn to Albanian Alps for mountain adventures this July

TIRANA, July 7 – Mountain tourism continues to attract thousands of domestic and foreign visitors every year. During the first days of July, the Albanian Alps National Park has welcomed visitors from Albania and abroad, including hiking enthusiasts exploring its natural landscapes. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images on Tuesday of two foreign tourists who chose to spend their summer days in the Albanian Alps.
The region features dramatic mountain landscapes, crystal-clear rivers, deep valleys, and mountain passes that attract visitors seeking outdoor experiences. Its rich vegetation and natural diversity make it one of Albania’s most important tourism destinations. The area includes rivers such as Shala, Valbona, Curraj, Cemi, and Moraça, as well as mountain lakes including those of Peja, Jezerca, Dobërdol, and Sylbica.
Meanwhile, peaks such as Radohima, Maja e Hekurave (Peak of Irons), Maja e Arapit (Arapi Peak), and Maja e Shkëlzenit (Mount Shkëlzen Peak) offer panoramic views for adventure tourism enthusiasts. The Albanian Alps continue to strengthen their position as a destination for nature tourism, combining scenic landscapes with hiking and exploration opportunities.
