National History Museum, a favorite attraction for tourists in January, figures increase by 345%

The National Historical Museum in Tirana remains one of the most visited cultural and historical attractions in the capital. 1578 visitors, foreign and local, have visited the National Historical Museum in January 2023 alone.
The figures were announced by the Museum itself, where it says that this is an “increase with 345% more visitors in total compared to the month of January 2022”.
During the month of January 2022, the Museum was visited by only 355 visitors in total.
In the museum premises there are about 4750 objects, which belong to a long period of time starting from the 4th millennium BC and up to the second half of the 20th century. The Antiquities Pavilion is one of the richest in the National History Museum, with nearly 400 different objects.
The presented objects start with the late Paleolithic, where the prehistoric culture proves to be alive and powerful in the Albanian lands. In the museum stands there are objects belonging to the Bronze Age (2100-1200 BC), as well as objects from the Iron Age (1200-450 BC), periods that outline the characteristics of the Illyrians.
Scientific conferences and commemorative events that speak about our national identity are the most frequent events that take place at the National Museum.
