Shkodra was decorated this weekend by colorful carnival masks and dresses. The recitation of traditional verses could not be missing in this celebration, which has been organized for 162 years. The carnivals brought joy and happiness to the citizens and tourists who had taken to the streets to watch the performances, but the happiest were the children.

“Shkodra has been celebrating carnivals for 162 years in succession.The carnival in Shkodra is based on humor. The tradition of the carnival is a striking humor, pointing out the flaws of the society”, said the organizer, Gjon Stefa.
The organizational leader Gjon Stefa says that this year’s motto is, “We are barking like stray dogs”, which focuses on highlighting the problems of the city that have not been heard.

After the pedestrian marched, the scarecrow, which symbolizes the removal of evil, was also burned in the center of the city.
