Hohmann: EU, support for education and cultural heritage

EU Ambassador Christiane Hohmann recalled today the third anniversary of the meeting of EU member states in Brussels to support Albania after the tragic earthquake of November 2019.

EU Ambassador Christiane Hohmann emphasizes that thanks to EU support, 38 new schools have been built.

“Like three years ago today, the EU, its member states and other international partners gathered in Brussels to support Albania’s reconstruction efforts after the tragic earthquake of November 2019. Today, thanks to our flagship programs, EU4Schools and EU4Culture , 38 new schools have been built and three cultural heritage sites have been completely restored”, said the ambassador.

Likewise, EU ambassador Christiane Hohmann emphasizes the aid that the EU is giving to Albania in support of education and cultural heritage.

“The European Union and its member states reacted immediately to help Albania recover from the terrible earthquake. Today, I am proud to see dozens of new, modern schools and important cultural heritage sites being restored. EU support is already bringing about a change in the country’s education system and its cultural heritage. It is offering better educational opportunities for the new generation, the future citizens of Albania in the EU. It is helping Albania preserve its rich heritage and promote local tourism,” said EU Ambassador Christiane Hohmann.
