“Poeteka” brings foreign writers to Tirana

In the 10th year of its establishment, the Residence for writers and literary translators “POETEKA – Tirana in Between” will continue to bring prominent names of authors from Europe and the region to the Albanian capital, even during the year 2023.

One of the first writers to arrive this year is Sladjana Nina Perković (1981), a Franco-Bosnian journalist and acclaimed author of prose fiction, short stories and novels. After completing her studies in Political Science in Paris (Panthéon-Sorbonne – Univ. Paris 1), she worked mainly as a news correspondent for the media in the former Yugoslavia, but her contribution has become internationally recognized through appearances in many European news media, like “The Guardian” or “Today”.

Without leaving aside journalism, Sladjana Nina Perković has devoted herself in a special way to her career as a writer. In the last five years, she has published the collection of stories “Kuhanje” and the novel “U jarku”. We note that “U jarku” was listed for the high literary award NIN 2021 and for the well-known “Meša Selimović” award. This novel was awarded as a special entry of EUPL 2022 (The European Union Prize for Literature).

Sladjana Nina Perković lives, works and writes between Banja Luka and Paris. In the summer of 2023, she will stay for a month in Tirana, as a friend at the Writers’ House, supported by TRADUKI, thanks to the cooperation that the Ministry of Culture of Albania has through KKLL and realized by POETEKA.
