Cultural Heritage/ The second call for the Rejuvenation Bonus opens, Margariti: One of the most successful programs

The government has opened for the second year the call for the Revitalization Bonus, a support scheme for anyone who will restore or revive a cultural monument located in historic centers.
The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, has announced that the cooperative scheme between the state and the private sector aims to preserve cultural heritage, revive this heritage, open new jobs and promote sustainable economic development.
“A year ago we challenged ourselves by undertaking this initiative, the success of which we were actually skeptical. The reality showed that we were right, the trust that was given to us and the high number of applications to benefit from this grant. There were about 100 applications from Gjirokastra, Berati or Shkodra, the revitalization bonus went from the Unesco cities of Përmeti, Korça, Pogradeci, Konispoli, Kanina and Selenica, giving a helping hand to the owners or users of facilities that needed intervention or new functions.
It is a cooperative scheme where the state and the private sector come together for a purpose, the preservation of cultural heritage, the revitalization of cultural heritage, the opening of new jobs, the promotion of sustainable economic development in localities. The revitalization bonus is 50% more than a year ago, for maintenance and restoration the support will be 1 million lek, while for revitalization the support will go up to 6 million lek”, explained Margariti.
Prime Minister Edi Rama considers it as one of the most successful cultural heritage programs for the restoration of houses-museums or other cultural monuments.
