The Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama is in Skopje, to participate in the First Economic Forum. Commissioner Varhelyi will be part of the meeting through a video message where Deputy Prime Ministers Nikola Dimitrov and Fatmir Bytyçi will also be part of the discussion.
Also announced for participation are the Minister of Justice of North Macedonia, Bojan Maricic, the Governor Anita Angelovska Bezhovska, the Minister of Finance of Albania, Anila Denaj, the Ambassadors of the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Greece and Poland to North Macedonia and leaders of other financial institutions both at home and abroad. The meeting comes just a day after the EU did not find a common language for launching the EU membership procedures with Albania and North Macedonia .

The forum, entitled “A New Dawn: Laying the Foundations for Stability and Prosperity in North Macedonia”, was organized by the Delphi Economic Forum in co-operation with the Greek Business Association in North Macedonia.

Organizers say the goal is to hod the Skopje Economic Forum in a high-level meeting of the most influential local and international political leaders, corporations and intellectuals to address the pressing challenges North Macedonia and the region are facing.

The forum will provide an opportunity to identify and assess key growth challenges, learn from policy experiences in other countries, support the adoption of corporate social innovation practices in the private sector, and identify a course of policy action towards a more competitive and inclusive economy in North Macedonia.
