“From Bohemianism to Eternity,” Rama: Unique Exhibition at COD

The exhibition titled “From Bohemianism to Eternity” showcases works by some of the most renowned international visual artists, including Amedeo Modigliani, Henri Matisse, Edgar Degas, Tamara de Lempicka, Kees van Dongen, and others.

Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared glimpses of the exhibition on social media ahead of its public opening this evening.

“This is a unique exhibition at COD—the Center for Open Dialogue at the Prime Minister’s Office,” Rama wrote, highlighting the collaboration with the MTA Foundation and the Embassy of Israel.

The collection on display at COD includes masterpieces from Modern Art, Fauvism, Art Deco, Avant-Garde, and more—movements that are essential to understanding the history of world art.

Dutch artist Kees van Dongen and Italian Amedeo Modigliani, both closely linked to France, are featured with iconic works: Van Dongen’s spectacular portrait of Marcelle Léoni and Modigliani’s portrait of the young Swedish woman, Annie Bjarne.

Sculptures hold a special place in the collection, beginning with Edgar Degas’s exquisite bronze “Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer,” clad in a fabric tutu—a highlight among many ballet-themed masterpieces.

Henri Matisse’s bold sculptural experiment “Aurora,” made of bronze-painted clay, is another important piece in the exhibition.

The diversity of the collection is further enriched by a distinguished group of Hungarian avant-garde artists including Bela Kadar, Lajos Tihanyi, Csaky, and Hugo Scheiber. The German avant-garde is also well represented by artists such as Hanns Bolz, Heinrich Nauen, Max Ackermann, Friedrich Gotsch, Boris Kleint, Oscar Moll, and the celebrated Gabrielle Münter.
