Theatre Lab Sparks Dialogue on Migration, Childhood, and Freedom

As part of Europe Week, actresses Ema Andrea and Aida Talliente created a theatre lab.
They led the audience through the emotional world of Elvira Buonocore’s work.

They brought The First Language to the stage in Shkodër, Korçë, and Tirana.
They gave voice to two women.
They let two languages speak and clash.
They told a bold story of identity, memory, childhood, migration, and freedom.

They used a simple but powerful set. They confronted the audience with prejudice and misunderstanding. They urged them to dream in their native tongue.

They delivered a clear message: women’s freedom shapes every free society.
Without it, freedom dies.

They gave meaning to every word. They filled every silence with force. They reminded us of the values that bind us.They challenged us to defend dignity—every day.
