Europe Week Celebrated with Classical and Jazz Performances

A special classical music concert took place this week at the University of Arts in Tirana as part of Europe Week.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic organized the event in cooperation with the University of Arts. During the evening, Albanian piano virtuosos Silvana Skënderi and Fjorda Veizaj performed. They played classical works by Dvořák, Ravel, Schubert, Smetana, and others.
Additionally, Europe Week featured a unique jazz concert—JALBOZ—by renowned singer Rona Nishliu and musician Gent Rushi. Their performance came to Tirana after impressive shows in Shkodër and Korçë.
Rona Nishliu and Gent Rushi moved the audience with a powerful performance. Using vocals, piano, drums, and traditional instruments, they brought old songs to life in a completely new way.
Through jazz, improvisation, and modern sensitivity, they proved that traditional music still holds great power today. Albanian folk songs found new expression, blending the old with the new in a fresh, emotional form.
