Italian Cultural Week Opens with Classical Concert in Tirana

Italian Cultural Week began with a classical music concert by the Youth Orchestra “Magna Grecia.”

Italian artists performed at the Catholic Cathedral in Tirana. The concert was titled Mediterraneo in Musica. Soprano Sara Intagliata, baritone Giampiero Delle Grazie, and the orchestra played works by Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, and Paisiello. They also performed pieces by Morricone and Nino Rota.

The Italian Ambassador to Albania, Marco Alberti, attended the concert. In his speech, he said this week is dedicated to the future. “Everyone knows how strong and historic the ties between Italy and Albania are, and how deep their friendship is,” said Ambassador Alberti.

The opening of Italian Cultural Week was more than music. It felt like a journey—where identity connects with the future. This beautiful experience will continue tonight at the Ancient Amphitheatre of Durrës.
