Israeli Cultural Week Launches with Enchanting Puppet Show at the Puppet Theater

The Israeli Cultural Week kicked off yesterday at the Puppet Theater. It started with a magical puppet show.
The play “When All Was Green” told a silent yet powerful story. It showed how a boy and a tree join forces to fight against a world increasingly covered in concrete. Still, their roots of hope remain strong.
Right after the show, the artists opened up about their creative process. They answered questions from curious children and all attendees who felt the emotions of this wordless story.
Created by Dikla Katz and Avi Zlicha, “When All Was Green” used old books, recycled covers, and yellowed pages to build a unique world. This world blends childhood and nature with the gray concrete of modern cities. The play has won 16 international awards and toured more than 30 countries. Thus, it touches every audience by sending deep messages without words, communicating through emotions and movement.
Moving forward, the Israeli Week will feature a concert on June 11 at the Reja installation. The legendary rock band Orphaned Land will take the stage there.
Finally, the Israeli Cultural Week will conclude on June 12. The modern ballet “I Carry You Hold”, by Olivia Court Mesa and Yochai Ginton, will perform at the Experimental Theater “Kujtim Spahivogli.” This duet explores the relationship between a woman and a man without power or submission. It creates a delicate and intense dialogue through movement. Moreover, the performance reflects on equality, sensitivity, and emancipation.
