Cultural and Recreational Hub Opens in Lezhë

In Fishtë, Lezhë, a new cultural and recreational center has opened. It stands in the birthplace of Father Gjergj Fishta. The center honors both his memory and the living spirit of creativity.

The center offers spaces for artist residencies, creative sessions, and exhibitions. Both local and international artists can use these spaces.

Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from the multifunctional memorial space in Lezhë on social media. This is where Father Gjergj Fishta was born.

A pedestrian path connects the center to Fishta’s restored house. The house is now open to visitors.

The investment is part of the Fishtian Itinerary. This route includes places where Fishta lived and served. It invites visitors to explore his life and work.

The “Fishta’s Traces” project includes several restorations and constructions. It restored the Ura e Mesit bridge, illuminated the castles of Durrës and Lezhë, and turned Fishta’s childhood home into a museum. It also built the Memorial Space in his birthplace.

The project created a multifunctional building and a museum tower where Fishta was born. The buildings follow the project plan and are now complete, along with the outdoor area.

The flat multifunctional building is fully furnished. It will host literary residencies and cultural events related to books and reading.
