French Masterchef Jerome Rigaud Praises Albanian Cuisine and Hospitality

French masterchef Jerome Rigaud enjoyed Albanian dishes and praised the local cuisine and hospitality during his visit to Saranda. Although his trip was brief with limited contacts, he spoke highly of his experiences at the “Summer 2025” season opening event.
“I was amazed from the moment I arrived. First, the beauty of the city that blends mountain and sea so well. At the Fish Festival, we met very hospitable people. I truly liked experiencing your tradition,” Rigaud said.
From seaside accommodation to a full culinary tour, visiting a farm, an agro-tourism spot, a winery, and a Michelin-star-like restaurant, Jerome called his stay spectacular.
“The three days here were unforgettable. We enjoyed fresh local food, a visit to a farm agro-business, traditional Albanian dishes, and fine gastronomy,” he added.
Asked if a similar event happens in his hometown of Menton, France, he mentioned the Lemon Festival. He also highlighted another traditional event in Menton, the Citron Festival in April, alongside the February Lemon Festival, both marking the start of the holiday season.
Jerome Rigaud’s impressions carry extra weight given his status in French cuisine. Before this visit, he only knew Albania and Sarandë as points on the map.
