Gjirokastër Castle has attracted a record number of tourists this weekend. Amazed by what the city has to offer, tourists have formed long lines at the gate of the castle. They come from different parts of the world to experience the beauty, history, and traditions of the museum city. They are amazed by the beauties that the city offers.

“I am from the Netherlands and I came to Albania for the first time. After visiting other cities, we also came to Gjirokastër.

We had heard about Albania and decided to visit it. It’s really beautiful. This castle is wonderful,” says a tourist.

“We are from Brazil. This is the second castle we visit in Albania. First we were in Berat. It is so beautiful that we will stay a week in Albania,” says another tourist.

“We are a group of friends who come from Italy. We have a few days in Albania. We were in Saranda and decided to come to Gjirokastër too. There are beautiful places like this castle with interesting history.”

During the days of August, the number of visitors to the Castle of Argjiro has increased significantly. Every day the figures range from 1500 to 2000 local and foreign tourists, turning it into the most visited object of the stone city.
