National Theatre of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble Artists on Tour, Perform Today at Gjirokastër Castle

Artists from the National Theatre of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble continue their summer tour with a full schedule this week. They travel from Tirana to Gjirokastër, then onward to Ulqin, Montenegro, sharing the spirit of Albanian art across borders.
Today, they perform “Cantata” at Gjirokastër Castle. Choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti staged the piece earlier at TKOB. The modern ballet features live music by the Italian group “Assurd”.
After its premiere in Tirana, “Cantata” arrives in Gjirokastër to bring rhythm, passion, and Southern Italian spirit to the Castle of Argjiro. The performance takes place on the 20th anniversary of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage status.
Meanwhile, Vivaldi’s “Gloria” comes to two venues: tomorrow (16 July) at the Prime Minister’s Office, and on 17 July at the Catholic Church “Heart of Christ.”
On Thursday (17 July), the Folk Ensemble performs “Folk on Tour” at the Local Museum inside Ulqin Castle.
