New Strategy for Albanian Cinema Focuses on Transparency, Quality, and International Cooperation

Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja presented a new vision for Albanian cinema. He introduced the strategy during a meeting with filmmakers. The new head of the National Center of Cinematography, Jonid Jorgji, also took part.

The goal was clear. Gonxhja aimed to communicate future steps and priorities to the creative community. He emphasized three pillars: transparency, quality, and international cooperation.

According to him, transparency and clarity must define every process. Decisions should follow clear rules. At the same time, professional standards must rise. Audiovisual productions should meet higher quality levels. Cooperation with the global film industry should deepen.

The meeting brought together filmmakers, QKK representatives, and international experts. The British Council supported the discussion. Experts outlined the strategy’s key points. They focused on meeting the needs of both local and foreign markets.

New Rules and European Opportunities

The group also addressed a new regulation at the QKK. The aim is to simplify applications. The regulation should open more space for quality projects. It will also improve access to funding.

Participants learned about the Creative Europe Media Desk. This platform connects Albanian filmmakers with European networks. It encourages co-productions and cross-border projects.

Minister Gonxhja underlined the importance of partnerships. He said that a strong creative ecosystem requires inclusion and collaboration. The audiovisual sector, he added, reflects cultural identity. It also offers economic and diplomatic potential.

The new strategy sets a new direction. Albanian cinema now aims to compete globally and earn greater visibility.
