The second edition of the “Travel Fest Albania” festival took place in Gjirokastër, a festival centered on documentaries that promote tourism and cultural heritage. During two nights, 14 films by well-known authors from different countries of the world were presented.

Film Director Burim Halititi said: “They are the films focusing on tourism. We have selected films that are related to tourism, that are related to animals in general and tourism around the world, and this is an opportunity when you look at how in different countries , away from Albania, to see how importance is attached and how and how interesting it is to protect the animals or the cultural heritage.” What stood out during the festival was the high tourist potential of our country.

Meanwhile another film director Irina Melunga stated: “This festival is a good opportunity above all to watch films from all over the world, because ‘Travel Fest Albania’ really has presentations from many film directors from all over the world. The second opportunity that this festival creates to me is that I can see a wonderful country such as Albania. It is the first time that I am in Albania and it was the invitation to participate in the festival that made this possible for me and I am pleased to see this destination of international tourism.”

There were 25 authors of documentary films from Spain, France, Great Britain, etc. in this festival.  Such organizations, in addition to the artistic and cultural values they do convey, they also promote Gjirokastër as an international tourist destination for foreign visitors.
