Number of tourist visits to Rozafa Castle keeps growing during the month of June, reflecting a significant increase of both local and foreign visitors for 2023.

Only in June, statistics talk of 14,456 visitors, a figure which is 4023 more, compared to the same period, a year ago.

Shkodër Castle, also known as Rozafa Castle, is one of the most important castles in Albania and the main tourist attraction in the city of Shkodër. It rises on a rocky hill to the west of the city, surrounded by the waters of the three rivers, meeting down the hill. The surrounding walls occupy an area of about 9 hectares. The inner surface of the castle is divided by the walls of three courtyards, with gates between them. The third courtyard, which is smaller than the others, is located on the highest part of the hill. On its outer walls, there are rectangular structures that replace the towers, while on the outer wall, the towers are denser. Inside the castle there are several rooms connected to a circular tower, a warehouse and a three-story building from the Venetian period and what remains by the old cathedral. The second courtyard occupies the central and largest part of the castle, being separated from the first courtyard by a transverse wall without towers.

It is one of the most important tourist destinations, which has been appreciated not only by historians of the time but also by many travelers, not only for the early and medieval  history it carries, but also as an important monument and the scenery it offers.
