Mokra Prepares for the Sixth Edition of “Mokra n’Fest”

Mokra is ready for the sixth edition of Mokra n’Fest. This festival gathers Mokra natives from across Albania and beyond. Consequently, it transforms the mountainous area into a hub of tradition, culture, and hospitality.

The festival takes place on August 16, from 2 PM until late evening, at the cultural monument bridge in Golik. During the event, visitors will enjoy live music concerts and a traditional food fair.

Firstly, Mariola & Jurgen Kaçani, the Lushka brothers, the Kapa brothers, and the Mokra ensemble will perform on the main stage. Additionally, Julian Elezi, Juli Tollozhina, and other local singers will showcase the rich musical heritage of this ancient Illyrian land.

Moreover, visitors can taste traditional dishes prepared by local women. For example, they will serve lakror në saç (a pie baked on a dome), traditional bread (kulaç), and grilled meat (mish në hell). All dishes come with homemade flavors and heartfelt care.

Besides music and food, the festival offers canoeing on the Shkumbin River, camping, a painters’ colony, and a photography exhibition. Also, children and youth will find special entertainment programs.

In conclusion, Mokra n’Fest goes beyond a simple celebration. It reconnects people with their roots, celebrates cultural identity, and invites everyone to experience the true spirit of Mokra.
