Gonxhja: National Museum of Fine Arts, New Art Space to Welcome Visitors and Artists from Around the World

Work on the National Museum of Fine Arts is progressing rapidly.
Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja said that a new art space is taking shape, adding a contemporary cultural dimension to the capital.
According to him, the future National Museum of Fine Arts will feature expanded exhibition areas, advanced preservation conditions, a modern restoration laboratory, and technology meeting international standards — all designed to welcome visitors, curators, and artists from across the globe.
The project also includes improved accessibility with two new entrances, an advanced security system, emergency staircases, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to preserve artworks under optimal conditions.
This transformation aims to turn the museum into a contemporary hub for art and culture in Albania.
Reconstruction of the museum began at the end of 2021, following the damage caused by the powerful earthquake that struck in November 2019.
