Lin Festival Returns, Showcasing Albanian Music, Dance, and Heritage

The picturesque village of Lin in Pogradec hosted the third edition of Lin Festival last night. The event created a warm atmosphere with performances by artists from across Albanian regions.

The festival attracted hundreds of locals and foreign tourists. Lin, recognized as the oldest stilt settlement in Europe, became a cultural hub during the event.

From August 14 to 16, music, dances, traditions, and cultural heritage offered visitors a unique journey into the history and spirit of the area.

Festival organizer Altin Tila stated, “The goal of Lin Festival is to revive cultural heritage and pass it to younger generations. We aim not only to entertain residents and visitors but also to transmit the values of our heritage.”

For performing artists, Lin remains more than a destination. It represents a place that conveys its ancient history in every dimension.

Performers included tenor Adhurim Grezda, singer-songwriter Adhurim Demiri, soprano Nina Muho, Blerina Shera, and Stefano di Matteo, among others.

As part of the festival, the General Directorate of Archives presented an exceptional photographic exhibition featuring works by Korçë masters Vani Burda and Thimi Raci.

Under festival lights and music, the photographs came alive, portraying early 20th-century southeastern Albania through rare portraits, landscapes, and moments documented by these distinguished artists.

The DPA participated for the second consecutive year, bringing archival treasures closer to the community and visitors.
