Shkodra Jazz Festival Brings Global Sounds to Northern Albania

Shkodra Jazz Festival continues to energize the cultural life of northern Albania in its 16th edition.

Last night, music lovers and tourists gathered at the “Oso Kuka” Historical Museum to enjoy a captivating concert by Italian artist Ilaria Pilar Patassini — a singer, composer, and performer whose musical world blends songwriting, chamber music, world music, jazz, and theatrical storytelling.

She was accompanied by Alessandro D’Alessandro, one of Italy’s most acclaimed accordionists. D’Alessandro, who began studying accordion at age 9 in Coreno Ausonio, is known for his genre-spanning musical style.

The Shkodra Jazz Festival, held from August 26 to 30, features both Albanian and international artists including Slowklang, Patassini & D’Alessandro, and Amphitrio with M. Kapidani, F. Piantoni, R. Lombardi, Gabriel Oscar Rosati, and Kejdi Barbullushi.

Shkodër’s August nights are filled with powerful rhythms — from classical sounds to vibrant jazz — offering audiences an extraordinary musical experience.
