The Human as Avatar in Dritan Nasi’s “Avatar City” at FAB Gallery

The FAB Gallery near the University of Arts opened the exhibition “Avatar City” by Dritan Nasi yesterday evening.

The artist presented the exhibition as a reflection of society’s dependence on social media, where every moment is shared and experiences are reduced to stories or reels.

Curator Ermir Hoxha explained that the exhibition portrays a society living for the audience rather than for itself. He added it illustrates a reality where human identity is shaped by artificial intelligence and controlled by algorithms.

The exhibition, open until September 14, shows that people increasingly perform life rather than experience it, turning ordinary acts into public displays.

Visitors will see 25 large-format paintings and six large drawings. Faces appear blurred, backgrounds are artificially brightened, and individuals connect through invisible screens.

The Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation supports the exhibition, which will include open lectures, as well.
