Officials in Shkodër said the “Migjeni” Theater is undergoing restoration.

The Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation funds the work. Authorities reported that crews are currently installing modern air conditioning systems.

The Ministry said it will soon upgrade the theater’s electrical systems, including stage wiring, lighting, and safety equipment. It added that crews will install new seating for spectators.

Officials noted that the improvements aim to enhance comfort for audiences and artists. They said the theater will prepare to host more cultural events, with an expected 30 percent annual increase.

The Ministry emphasized that restoring and modernizing the theater supports cultural heritage. It also contributes to tourism, economic growth, and educational activities in Shkodër, a city considered a “cradle of culture.”

Authorities reported that the “Migjeni” Theater is located in the city center. They said it has a 76-year history and has staged hundreds of premieres, placing Shkodër at the forefront of national cultural developments.
