National Theatre Opens New Season with Comedy “Lend Me a Tenor”

The National Theatre launched its new artistic season with the comedy “Lend Me a Tenor”, directed by Armand Bora.
The play was written by American playwright Ken Ludwig. Ludwig has authored a dozen plays, including the successful musical “Crazy for You”, with music by Gershwin.
Officials said “Lend Me a Tenor” is one of Ludwig’s most brilliant and entertaining works. It premiered in London in 1986 and ran on Broadway for 14 consecutive months.
The theatre announced that the show will run for the capital’s audience on September 18, 19, 20, and 21 at Centrali 400 in ArTurbina.
The story takes place in the 1930s inside a sitting room. Experts noted that the original title is a wordplay on “Lend me a tenner,” meaning a ten-dollar bill, which becomes “tenor” in the play.
