Children in Shkodra will soon enjoy the new recreational park “Dua të luaj,” a space dedicated to play, sports, and family activities.

The project follows the government’s decision to transfer the former military unit in Bërdicë to the ownership of Shkodra Municipality. Work has already started to turn the area into a public space.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said the city is gaining a new life where, for 30 years, an abandoned car lot caused pollution. “Shkodra is winning a space of life, with the park ‘Dua të luaj,’ a place for children and families, with recreation for all ages,” Rama stated.

The initiative comes through cooperation between the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets, Shkodra Municipality, and the Albanian Development Fund.

The site, once filled with wrecked cars and scrap metal, has been cleared. Investments for the new park will begin soon. Spread over three hectares, the park will feature new playgrounds and become a dedicated space for children and parents.
