New Book Explores Spaç Through Eight Perspectives

“Tek Bunkeri” published the book “Terrene – Eight Perspectives on Spaç” under the project “Shpirtërim”. The EU4Culture program and the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation supported the initiative.

The book brings eight authors who explore Spaç as a key site of Albania’s history, memory, and culture.

Artan Puto, Nebi Bardhoshi, Anna Shkreli, Alen Bejko, Ledi Shamku-Shkreli, Sokol Çunga, Arba Baxhaku, and Antonela Pepkolaj wrote essays and stories that open new ways to understand Spaç. They show its role as a place of repression, memory, and reflection.

The collection rejects a single truth. Instead, it raises questions and builds reflections: How do we preserve trauma without turning it into spectacle? How do we protect the memory of unheard voices?

The authors give Spaç an interdisciplinary vision that connects history, culture, and collective memory.

Anna Shkreli and Ledi Shamku-Shkreli will present the book on 22 September at the Ethnographic Museum of Kavaja.
