French Director Éric Vigner Presents “The Children” at Metropol Theater

French director and visual artist Éric Vigner presented the play The Children by Lucy Kirkwood last night at Metropol Theater.
Vigner studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in Paris. He has staged works by both contemporary and classical authors and directed Théâtre de Lorient for many years. For 18 years, the renowned director has returned to Albania from time to time to stage different plays.
In The Children, Hazel and Robin, two retired nuclear scientists, try to live quietly despite the fear of contamination. The return of Rose brings a difficult request. The three confront dilemmas, memories, and complex relationships, torn between sacrifice and the desire for peace.
They face a moral question: the calm of old age or a selfless mission to save future generations?
The contemporary English play, written in 2017, will be staged for five consecutive nights. Luiza Xhuvani, Vasjan Lami, and Yllka Mujo bring the characters to life.
