Tirana, October 8 – Minister of Interior Albana Koçiu met today with two ministers from the Belgian Government. They were Annelies Verlinden, Minister of Justice, and Anneleen Van Bossuyt, Minister of Asylum and Migration.

During the meeting, Koçiu highlighted the importance of cooperation between Albania and Belgium. She called it a “sign of trust and a close partnership that unites us in tackling challenges”. She added that this includes fighting organized crime, seizing and confiscating criminal assets, and managing migration sustainably.

Koçiu reinforced this message in a social media post. She emphasized that collaboration with Belgium reflects mutual trust and strengthens the joint effort against crime and for orderly migration.

The Minister also expressed gratitude to the Belgian ministers for their continued support and confidence in Albania.

“We remain determined to continue this fruitful partnership,” Koçiu wrote. “Our goal is to strengthen cooperation and achieve joint results that serve the safety of our citizens”.
