Two new books on Butrint were presented at the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD).

The books, Butrint 8 and Butrint on the Crossroads of the Mediterranean, were authored by Professor Richard Hodges. Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports Blendi Gonxhja called Hodges a long-time friend and valued collaborator.

These publications enrich scientific literature and inspire future generations. They also mark 25 years of fruitful cooperation to preserve and develop Butrint, a national treasure.

Hodges joined the Butrint Foundation as scientific director from 1993 to 2012. He initiated new excavations and management strategies for Butrint. Between 2000 and 2012, he oversaw the International Center for Albanian Archaeology and the Gjirokastër Conservation Project.

Butrint continues to attract visitors worldwide. This year alone, it welcomed 257,670 visitors, highlighting its importance as a cultural heritage gem.
