Gonxhja: 110,000 Visitors at Apollonia

Tirana, October 30 – The Archaeological Park of Apollonia has welcomed around 110,000 visitors so far.
Tourism, Culture, and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja shared the figures.
Interest in this archaeological site, one of Albania’s most important cultural heritage locations, continues to grow. Hundreds of domestic and international visitors explore the park daily.
Visitors can see the ancient city of Apollonia, its monuments, and exhibits in the museum within the park. The museum houses unique objects, significant not only for Albania but also internationally.
The museum is located in a late 12th-century medieval monastery, forming a museum complex among the park’s monuments.
It represents one of the key attractions of the National Archaeological Park of Apollonia for both visitors and archaeology researchers.
The museum opened in 1957. It displays around 1,000 original objects arranged chronologically. The exhibits illustrate Apollonia’s history from prehistory to the city’s decline and abandonment.
